FEES FOR SERVICE.
The fee, as recommended by the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta is:
- $220 per 50 minute session -
This fee applies to both individual and couples counselling. Incremental billing can occur for services provided beyond a 50-minute session such as extended sessions, phone calls, letters or reports; typically billed in 10 minute increments at the rate per session.
Payments are made at the end of each session via credit card, etransfer or cash.

Most health benefits plans and insurance providers (including Motor Vehicle Accidents) offer coverage for psychotherapy with a Registered Psychologist (like myself). Clients are responsible for checking with their providers to verify how their plan will compensate their sessions. I recommend clients do this prior to their first appointment.
Clients are responsible for paying for the service at the end of each session, and will be provided with an official receipt, that will allow them to submit for reimbursement from their insurance provider.
In certain circumstances, for example if you are a client through WCB, third party billing is available. If you have further questions, book a free consultation [here].

Questions to ask your insurance provider to help determine your coverage? Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits? What percentage of service/cost is covered? What is my plan limit per year? When does plan renew? Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
What is the cancellation policy? If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours before hand. Sessions cancelled will less than 24 hours notice, will be charged the full rate of session. In rare circumstances, the cancellation fee will be waived where extenuating circumstances apply (life happens!).
